A Host of People has committed to a thematic exploration of what it means to be “Good Ancestors” through 2027. More than ever, as we face climate catastrophe and growing divisions among humankind, we seek to look outside of ourselves and our lifetimes to deeply consider the lives of our descendants from, we hope, far future generations. The following are the main centerpiece productions
Good Ancestors: Peregrina premiered 2024
Good Ancestors: Shining Cities in 2025 & 2026
Good Ancestors: Life Lines

Through storytelling and fostering creative connections, it will explore the challenges, moments of humor, and unexpected losses and victories that arise when dementia impacts individuals, families and communities. Performances will be held in May 2026 at La MaMa in NYC and in Detroit in 2027.
The development process includes interviews with people with memory loss and caregivers throughout Fall 2025, as well as sharing experiences through this online questionnaire.
